III Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup 2010 - The Countdown runs

For the third consecutive year La Sella Golf Resort in Denia, Costa Blanca is hosting the European Ladies Cup which will be celebrated from the 22nd to 25th of April 2010. Sponsored by the Valencian Community Investments (VCI) it´s definitively one of the most prestigious and important tournaments for the European female golf professionals which confirms the top-class starting list.
Holland´s winning team of the last edition formed by Christel Boeljon and Marjet van der Graaf will be participating this year again to defend the title.
Also no changes in Italy´s team with the veterans Giulia Sergas and Verónica Zarzi who finished on the second place last year.
The Spanish team is formed by Tania Elósegui from San Sebastian, who finished the first two editions in 2008 and 2009 together with her partner Paula Martí on position seven respectively eight. Her team partner for this year will be Emma Cabrera from the Canary Islands as Beatriz Recari initially invited to participate in this Nation Tournament had to decline.
We will also have the pleasure to see again Gwladys Nocera, the French golf star and presently No 5 of the LET ranking. This time she will form a team with Jade Schaeffer, winner of the Ladies German Open 2009.
New faces in the English team this year. After Rebecca Hudson and Trish Johnson, the winners of the first edition in 2008 and the legendary Laura Davies and Lisa Hall, who ended on the fifth position in 2009 after a hard struggle with the French team that could decide this in its favour it will be Karen Stupples and Melissa Reid, 8th of the Solheim Cup Standings of last year, who will defend the English colours.
For Germany Bettina Hauert, in 2007 voted as the Player´s Player of the Year due to her outstanding performance in her 4th year on the LET and Sandra Gal are coming.
In expectation of victory Sweden send the top-class players Sophie Gustafson, No 1 of the Henderson Money List 2009 and Anna Nordqvist, presently Number 7 of the world.
Like Sweden also Scottland pins its hopes on a combination of proved experience and booming youth by sending its number one and experienced Catriona Matthew and Krystle Caithness, Scotland´s promising golf youth and Curtis Cup player, who quit her studies to become professional in 2009.
The two non-European countries invited to this Nations Tournament are coming from the United States and Australia and we are very pleased to welcome again Beth Daniel and Meg Mallon the golf veterans from the United States and Karrie Webb, the country´s most successful female golfer down under and Karen Lunn for Australia which finalized the former edition on position three.
These are only 16 from 40 players but the great importance of the event is evident. Lucky those golf enthusiasts who might be able to join the it in person. The competition itself starts on Thursday the 22th and ends on Sunday the 25th of April. On the 21st the Pro-Am will take place.
